Individual & Group Therapy

Offered via Telehealth

Individual Therapy

We will start with a 60 minute intake assessment during which we get to know each other and determine if we are a good fit. In the first three sessions, we will identify what you most want and need out of therapy and create a plan together that will guide your progress towards goals that are most meaningful to you. Research has shown that most people make clinically significant progress with at least 20 sessions of individual therapy (Harnett, O'Donovan, & Lambert, 2010). I like to start there as a tentative timeframe for therapy while acknowledging that some people make significant changes in their lives over a longer period of time and some people can reach their goals over a shorter period of time.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is often the kind of mental health care that people need most, but don’t seek out because they are unfamiliar with it. If you are thinking to yourself, “I could never open up to others like that,” or “That sounds scary, what if people judge me in group,” or “I don’t want to burden other people with my problems,” then group therapy is probably the right place for you. This type of therapy is often the most effective way of addressing one’s therapeutic needs, especially if you are feeling dissatisfied with yourself or with the quality of your relationships. Clients often share that group therapy helps them make progress in unique ways and express surprise when they realize how well group therapy can get them unstuck. In group therapy, you will learn to identify how you relate to yourself and others in the moment, come to see yourself differently, behave in new ways with others, feel less alone in what you are going through, and experience a sense of belonging.
